Culinary Tips for the Best Roasted Spicy Broccoli
Mix the oil, salt, granulated garlic, and red pepper flakes first—this little hack ensures every bite is evenly seasoned!
Using a whole broccoli crown? Cut it into bite-sized florets for even cooking.
Got broccoli with stems? Don’t toss them! Peel the tough layers, dice the stems, and roast them alongside the florets for extra goodness.
Skip the steaming—straight roasting keeps it crispy and full of flavor.
No overcrowding! Give those florets space to crisp up. Remember, roasting is about caramelization, not steaming!

Health Benefits of Roasted Spicy Broccoli
Spicy roast broccoli is packed with flavor and nutrition! Here’s why this dish is as good for your taste buds as it is for your body:
Broccoli
Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable and a member of the dark green vegetable category. Most Americans don’t get enough vegetables from either of these groups and are therefore missing out on many health promoting benefits. Broccoli is also a good source of plant-based calcium.
Canola and Avocado Oils
Canola and avocado oil both contain heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids. They also have a high smoke point, making them ideal for high-heat cooking methods like roasting.
Spices
Spices like granulated garlic and red pepper flakes are rich in antioxidants, which can help reduce inflammation and support overall health. Plus, they’re a great way to add bold flavor without relying on extra salt.
