- 1 bunch asparagus (10-12 oz)
- ½ Tablespoon canola oil
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon granulated garlic or 2 minced garlic cloves
- 1-2 Tablespoons aged balsamic vinegar or glaze
Preheat oven to 425° F.
To make a balsamic glaze, simmer ¼ cup balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan until reduced by half and it coats the back of a spoon, ~5-7 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl to remove from heat.
Wash and dry asparagus. Trim or snap off the woody ends. Place asparagus in a bunch on a baking sheet.
Combine oil with salt, pepper, and garlic in a small bowl. Drizzle over asparagus and toss to coat. Then spread asparagus in a single layer on baking sheet.
Roast until tender and tips are lightly browned. Size varies a lot, so cooktime will vary depending on thickness! Plan on 5-7 minutes for thin spears and up to 12 for large.
Once done, remove from oven and drizzle with aged balsamic vinegar or glaze to taste. Enjoy!
